About the Text to Binary Converter
This text to binary converter runs entirely in your browser. Type or paste text into the input box and click To Binary to see each character as its 8-bit binary code. Paste binary numbers (separated by spaces) and click From Binary to decode them back to text. Nothing is uploaded to a server — the conversion happens instantly with JavaScript on your device.
How it works
- To Binary — Each character is converted to its ASCII/Unicode code point, then represented as an 8-bit binary number (padded with leading zeros). For example,
Abecomes01000001. - From Binary — Each space-separated binary number is parsed and converted back to its corresponding character. For example,
01001000 01101001becomesHi.

Frequently asked questions
Does this tool upload my text? No. All conversion happens locally in your browser. Your text never leaves your device.
Does it support Unicode characters? Yes. Characters with code points above 255 are represented using their full binary value across multiple 8-bit groups (surrogate pairs for characters above U+FFFF).
What format should binary input be in? Binary numbers should be separated by spaces. Each number is read as a base-2 integer.
Is there a length limit? The only limit is your browser's available memory. Even very long texts convert instantly.
